Colorful & Casual Spring Wedding at Heartwood Acres, Georgia

WEDDING DATE We got married on May 7, 2022. No particular reason for the date, it just fit into the dates we were looking at.

THE PROPOSAL Lane proposed to me while we were vacationing in Anna Maria Island, Florida. We go to Anna Maria each year with family, and it is one of our favorite places. He proposed at Egmont Key and I was completely surprised! My sister and her husband were there along with Lane's parents and a family friend. They all knew what was about to happen and they definitely helped make the proposal perfect!

WEDDING PLANNING MANTRA Google Documents!!! If you were a part of my wedding planning then you got to see how I kept myself sane with detailed Google Documents. I felt that the more I could write down and organize the less stress I would have during the whole wedding process. I also told myself that the wedding would happen the way it was supposed to happen, that I could only control so much. I had to keep myself level and remember to enjoy the present moments.

FAVORITE MOMENT Surprisingly, my favorite moment was our ceremony; which was the one part that gave me the most anxiety. Our ceremony was short and sweet, but the reason it is my favorite moment is that we could not stop giggling and being normal. It was one of the most normal moments of the entire day.

THE DRESS We went to Lovely Bride in Atlanta, Georgia. It was my sister, my Mother-in-Law, and Lane's Aunt. My mother couldn't make it in person but we made sure to face time her and send her pictures during the entire appointment. I think I tried on 7, and the ones I thought I would love the most ended up being my least favorite. I thought I wanted a dress covered in lace details, but when I tried on Archie from Made with Love I just knew it was the one. The back of my dress was the most appealing part to me and also that it was just simply classic.

BEST ADVICE It is stressful and during the process, you might think "what am I doing all this for", but it really is worth it in the end. It will be exactly what you dreamed of!
