FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS

Are the hours we hire you for consecutive? Or if we have an hour of “downtime” where not much is happening or travel between ceremony and reception locations does that count towards the hours we’ve hired you for?

Yes, the hours are consecutive and begin upon arrival. Typically if there’s an hour of “downtime” for you or your guests, it doesn’t necessarily translate to an hour of “downtime” for me because even though I might not be photographing you specifically during that time, there are other details that I will be photographing instead. In regards to travel time on the day of the wedding, the hours are consecutive so that time is included in the hours you’ve hired me for.

Have you ever photographed or done video at my venue or a venue like mine before?

I’ve been shooting weddings for a few years now so I’ve pretty much shot at every style of venue. If I haven’t personally been to your venue or haven’t gotten a chance to shoot at your specific venue, that’s good news — it means I’ll bring fresh eyes and a new creative perspective to the space. If you’d like to tour the venue together to talk about best locations and lighting for photos at your venue, I’d be happy to do that with you.

How do you describe your photography style?

Most couples hire me because they like how I make them feel in front of the camera. They have so much fun and feel super relaxed. Often times after we’ve wrapped a shoot the first thing my couples will say is, “Wow that was so much fun! It didn’t even feel like we were here to get our photos taken!” My shooting style I like to describe as a mix of Simon Says and 20 questions, which helps give it a playful, unposed, candid, natural look. I’ll have you do some goofy games and little activities that bring out a genuine smile or laugh so you’ll never feel stiff or awkward. My couples also typically love my editing style which is classic, timeless, clean, vibrant and true to color.

Are there any others on your team?

This is a yes and no answer. Most of the time it’s just me, myself and I doing all the shooting and editing. So if you hire me to do photography for your wedding it will be my talent behind the camera that you get and I personally edit each and every photo. Same thing if you hire me as your videographer — I’m the one doing both shooting and editing.

However, I can’t do photo AND video at the same time, so if you hire me for both, then I work as the primary photographer or videographer and I have a quality team of extra talented hands to fill in based on whichever role need to be filled. It’s the same scenario for anyone I hire to be an additional photographer for me if you’ve added a second shooter to your package. So if you like the work you see here, you’ll equally enjoy any additional shooters — their work is sprinkled throughout my site but you can’t spot the difference because it’s me doing the directing and the editing.

What if there is an emergency and you can’t photograph/video my wedding?

If there’s an emergency and I am unable to shoot the wedding I have a call list of people who would be available. If there’s a second shooter the second shooter would become the primary and I would use the call list to find an additional person. So even if worst comes to worst, you’ll be covered and your day will be captured beautifully.

How do you like to schedule a wedding day?

I connect with my couples 30-60 days out from the wedding to help them create a day-of timeline. From there I indicate when would be the ideal time for me to arrive and depart based on the amount of hours they hired me for and what’s most important for them to have captured.

What do your packages include?

The way my wedding collections are set up you can build your own package that’s perfect for you and what’s important. When you fill out the contact form, there’s a multiple choice question so you can indicate what you’re looking for and I can build a package that’s ideal for what you’re looking for in a photography and/or videography package.

My approach here is to help eliminate the amount of time you have to spend reading over all the package information trying to decipher what works best for you and how much it’s going to cost. That way any quote you receive from me is exactly how much it will cost — taxes and everything included. No confusion and no trying to do mental math to see if it’s within your budget. Like I tell all of my couples — whether they hire me or not — I’m here to help in any way that I can and I truly mean that. I make things easy, educational and enjoyable.

My contract states a minimum of 300 images for standard packages but depending on how long you hire me for I typically deliver between 500-700 images.

How long have you been photographing weddings and what do you love most about it?

I’ve been in the wedding industry since 2013 and have been photographing weddings since 2017. On average, I shoot between 30-40 weddings per year as primary shooter. I also associate shoot and second shoot on occasion for other seasoned photographers and videographers.

Can I see a copy of your contract?

Yes, you can absolutely see the contract before you sign it. It’s pretty standard and I’m pretty flexible if you have changes. Keep in mind, it will be active. So while you’re more than welcome to view it, do not sign it unless you’re fully ready to move forward.

Are you insured and can you provide a copy to my venue if they require it?

Yes and yes, absolutely.

How and when will i receive my photos?

I typically share sneak peeks within 2-3 days of the wedding (but not guaranteed) and then my contract states that images/video will be delivered within 4-6 months from the wedding date, with the average delivery time being within 60-90 days.
