Kayaking Adventure Engagement Session at Three Sisters Springs, Crystal River, Florida

Ever since I first kayaked through Three Sisters Springs at Crystal River in Florida, I knew I absolutely had to do a photo session there. Most couples choose a place and two outfits for their engagement session. Abby and Jackson said — that’s not us, we want adventure. So after narrowing down what kind of adventure day-date they wanted to do, I offered up kayaking at Three Sisters Springs as an option.

We met around 8:30 a.m. to be shooting in the springs around 9 a.m. The morning light would be pretty strong at that point (and it was), but it wouldn’t be so early that they would look tired.

I rented one kayak for me and my gear and had them rent the clear “cute kayak” that would be more aesthetically cohesive with their vision.

The logistical challenge of being able to place them in the kayak, pose them and shoot them while also trying to place myself while moving and keeping an eye on my gear so it didn’t fall in the water was something else.
