Traditional Romantic Wedding at the Belleair Country Club, Florida

WEDDING DATE We got married on January 8, 2022. Our anniversary when we started dating was January 7, 2018, so we wanted to do it around that date.

THE PROPOSAL We were in my hometown in the Upper Peninsula of Michigan and we went to the "Big Rock" that is along the lake near my family’s property. My parents had their first kiss there, and Brett asked to see it. He then tried to distract me by asking what different islands were called and I turned around to see him on one knee. I went into shock and stood there with my mouth open until he finished his speech. I was completely in shock and it was only us there. The only people that Brett told were my dad and his parents. However, the night before he tried to tell his friends and it was a group chat I was in. Luckily I was not near my phone and did not see the message! Very close call.

WEDDING PLANNING MANTRA I was able to plan a lot of things way ahead of time which made things less stressful. If I was ever stressed, I kept telling myself that everything will be beautiful in the end and everything will work out. When things got difficult a month before, I had my wonderful wedding coordinator, Diana, help me deal with small things you do not think of.

FAVORITE MOMENT My favorite moment of the wedding day was seeing Brett at the end of the aisle. Being able to see him for the first time all day and that big smile on my face made me so happy.

THE DRESS I went shopping in October 2020, and I went with Brett's mom and three of my bridesmaids. We went to two stores, and I thought I found one at the first store but didn't want to say yes since I also had an appointment at the other store. I ended up finding my wedding dress at the second store and was so thankful I did not end up going with the dress from the first store. I love all the detail on my dress. The lace is beautiful and the train is just the right length. It made me feel beautiful and bridal and I knew it was the one.

BEST ADVICE Get a wedding coordinator at least for the day of the wedding. It is a lifesaver. I did not have to worry about anything getting done since she was on top of everything.

BRETT SAYS … Jillian is an amazing woman, and I feel like the luckiest man in the world that we found each other. She is genuine, caring, trustworthy, and beautiful inside and out. I am so proud of her, and how much she has accomplished over the last few years. She has made me a better man, and I cannot wait to spend the rest of my life with her!
