Sunday Brunch Wedding at Tampa Bay Watch, Florida

WEDDING DATE We got married on November 14, 2021. We did have to postpone once due to the pandemic. We decided to postpone until fall 2021 & are so glad that we did!

THE PROPOSAL One of our five cats (four at the time) came in wearing a bow and a tag asking "Mom, will you marry dad?" and DUH! It was my 25th birthday, and I hinted very heavily that I would like to get engaged that day, so I would have been surprised if he DID NOT propose that day! The rest of the day was planned out with brunch at my favorite restaurant with my favorite people, plant shopping, and drinks at the beach for sunset with our closest friends. It was a beautiful day that we got to spend enjoying each other, and celebrating our love.

WEDDING PLANNING MANTRA IT WILL BE WORTH IT! And it was. Families don't often get together for happy events, and the past two years had been difficult for EVERYONE. Knowing that this was an event everyone was looking forward to really helped to put the stress into perspective.

Also, I stress ate cheese straight from the bag in the middle of the night on more than one occasion so that works too.

FAVORITE MOMENT Man, there were so many favorite moments. One was the first look with my dad- he had spent the morning with my future husband and he told me "Evan has been like a kid in a candy store all day", that was an awesome moment! My husband and I also took time to look out over our friends and family during the day, and were filled with so much joy and love.

THE DRESS My mom, and my maid of honor went shopping with me. My dress was the FIRST dress I tried on. I tried three others on that same day, but when I put my dress on, I immediately knew it was for me. Having postponed, I kept the dress in a friends closet for over a YEAR and never regretted picking a dress so quickly. I loved how "me" the dress was. It was more "pink" than pure white, and had plants all over it. It was perfect. Keeping it a secret from my husband was the hardest part, I showed him pictures "accidentally" multiple times!

BEST ADVICE Things are going to go wrong (half my groomsmen showed up wearing the wrong pants SO HELP ME). I was so mad at the time, but now it is a hilarious story that is told often. No matter how much you plan, something will go amiss in some way, while these little things feel like big things, they really aren't. The day is about the two of you. If you don't want to spend a large chunk of money on flowers or centerpieces because you don't really care, DON'T. We have heard only good things about how personal and fun our day was- we haven't heard one thing about unmatched pants or having faux flowers. Spend money on the things you care about, and ditch the rest.

THREE WORDS THAT DESCRIBE OUR DAY Emotional. Personal. COLD.

EVAN SAYS … She's the Linda to my Bob. (Bobs Burgers)

CHLOE SAYS … He's the Marty to my Wendy. (Ozark)

DO SOMETHING DIFFERENT: Having a brunch wedding was one of the best decisions we made. It was a long day — from a 3:45 a.m. wakeup call, to a 10:45 a.m. ceremony. But it made the day feel longer, and we were able to take the party back to the hotel where some of the very best memories were made.
